ZZPerformance axles are designed from the ground up to outperform both OEM and aftermarket alternatives. Every detail, from material selection to surface finish is engineered for precision, strength, and long-term reliability.

• 4340 Chromoly Center Shaft: Significantly stronger than standard carbon steel, 4340 chromoly delivers exceptional torsional strength and fatigue resistance under high load and high horsepower applications.

• TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) CV Boots: Built to last: TPE boots resist tearing, cracking, and chemical degradation far better than standard rubber. They maintain flexibility across a wide temperature range and shrug off oils and road contaminants.

• Precision-Cut Splines: Unlike rolled splines, CNC-cut splines guarantee a perfect engagement fit for maximum torque transfer and minimal driveline slop. 

• Powder-Coated Ends: Adds corrosion protection and a clean, uniform appearance while reducing rust buildup from road debris and salt. 

• Surface Ground Finish: Every axle is surface ground for a mirror-smooth finish. This ensures and ideal seal against the drive housing, reducing wear and potential for leaks over time.

All 97+ 3800 cars use the same driver side axle, however the passenger side axle can be different. Supercharged cars use a Heavy Duty “HD” passenger side axle and the non supercharged cars use a non HD axle. You can convert a non-HD car to a HD car by simply installing the supercharged differential, diff cover, and the passenger side axle. So someone with a non supercharged car that wants an OEM replacement axle would have to order a non-HD axle.
